Dr. Jeff Shell

I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1998, and have been practicing in the Atlanta area ever since. I have been at Butler Creek since 2006, and I really appreciate the close family-like work environment that our team has.

My patients include cats, dogs, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, and many kinds of other small exotic pets. One I area of practice I really enjoy is being able to care for senior pets. They have unique behavioral and physical conditions that need special consideration. Another area of practice I have an interest in is internal medicine, which includes conditions such as Diabetes, kidney diseases, Cushing’s Disease. One of the best things about this profession is being able to see a young puppy or kitten grow up healthy and live a happy life with wonderful owners.

Our household currently has 4 dogs, 2 hamsters (Bear and Pipsqueak), and aquarium fish (they don’t have names). In 2015 we lost our 17 year old cat named Phoebe to chronic kidney disease, and she is still missed greatly.

Dr. Kelly Qualls

Dr. Kelly Qualls has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2003. She began her career in Tucson, Arizona, where she worked at a busy small animal practice. Her family’s love for the south brought her to Georgia in May 2011, where she immediately began working at Cedarcrest Animal Hospital.

Dr. Qualls received her B.S. in biology from Middle Tennessee State University in 1999. She continued her education at the University of Tennessee, where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.

Dr. Kelly Qualls is a general practitioner with special interest in internal medicine, dentistry, and ultrasonography. She enjoys working with dogs and cats, but will also see the occasional pocket pet. Compassionate care is her goal! Dr. Qualls wants all of her clients to understand the care that Cedarcrest Animal Hospital has for their pet. “We always have the best interest of their furry companion in mind.”

When Dr. Qualls is not practicing veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family- her husband Randy, her son Tanner, and her daughter Taylor. She also enjoys swimming, traveling, movies, and music.

Dr. Qualls currently has one canine family member Marley. He is an adorable basset hound that she and her husband adopted when they got married.

Dr. Erica Chase

Since childhood, Dr. Erica Chase knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She has always had a love for animals, and feels extremely blessed to have this wonderful job as her occupation.

She received her B.S. in biology at North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Ga in 2004. Dr. Chase continued her education at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on St. Kitts Island, and completed her clinical year at Purdue University. She graduated with her D.V.M in 2008.

Dr. Chase is a general practitioner who enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has special interests in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She believes each pet is an important member of the family and strives to keep them as happy and healthy as possible to give the family a long lifetime together. She believes compassion, education, and dedication are the pillars for creating a meaningful and unforgettable relationship between a family and its four legged companions.

When she is not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Chase enjoys spending time with family and friends, riding her horse, traveling, movies and relaxing. Dr. Chase’s home would not be complete though, without her dogs, cats, goats, chickens, guinea pigs and horse.
